Renovation and Innovation: A 12-week garden transformation

At Urbanscaping we work on a wide variety of jobs, indoors and out, commercial and residential, for modest budgets and more extensive budgets. The commonality? All projects are delivered to time and budget and with exceptional quality, just like you’d expect.

One of our recent residential projects saw us completely transform a large garden, approximately one acre in size, from overgrown, and in serious need of work, to sleek and stylish. Of course, one thing that was key in revamping the garden’s design, and ensuring it would remain low maintenance, was our artificial grass.

After carrying out a site clearance, using heavy machinery, we were left with a surface that would enable us to start from scratch – ideal for laying our artificial grass. In total, 600m2 of high quality artificial grass was laid on the property’s lawn, leaving a clean and attractive finish that would remain perfect in all seasons.

Of course, like all our jobs, transforming this family’s lawn didn’t come without its challenges. The sloping site created a number of issues that required careful management, but with our years of experience and landscaping expertise we were able to remedy any problems.

While our artificial grass was a major part of the final design, there were lots of other elements that came together to create the perfect finish. After carrying out a consultation with our clients, we were able to design a garden that would completely satisfy their needs, requirements and budget.

Design elements included composite decking, in smoked oak, a popular choice amongst our clients, bonded gravel for a high quality finish on the driveway, and stylish, hardwearing sawn limestone paving. These were recommended by the Urbanscaping team due to their high quality and overall look. Having worked with many landscapes and materials in the past, we were confident, as always, that these materials would be perfect for our clients.

  • The design work that followed included laying:
  • 600m2 of artificial grass
  • 100m2 of composite decking in smoked oak
  • 200m2 of resin bonded gravel driveway and clay Belgique pavers
  • Sawn limestone paving

With all these design elements we were careful to use our years of expertise to ensure longevity and a wow-factor design. We also created raised rendered beds, which carefully bordered the main elements of the garden’s design and provided that picture perfect finish.

The project lasted 12 weeks in total and remained on budget. As always, it was a real pleasure working with clients that shared our vision and would make the most of their new lawn.
